FLICKR POOL SATURDAYS!

This has been such an odd up-and-down week for me. Giants beat the Patriots on Sunday, Monday I realised I had a cold, Tuesday was that cold getting worse, Wednesday was spent having my book picked apart by a lecturer, Thursday was just more being sick and Friday was alright by the end of the day. Who knows what the weekend will be like but if I’m putting money on an outcome, I’m going with it being good, just because it makes sense to always be hopeful.

One thing that’s been consistent this week however is the volume and quality of submissions. The total amount is still rising since I started this feature a couple weeks ago. I expected it to level off but it hasn’t done that yet so I’m pretty happy. As a result of that though, it’s getting more difficult to pick the best few. These aren’t head and shoulders above the rest this week. They’re just the ones that stood out slightly more, and worked well together as a post. I try to pick ones that I think look like they all came from the same world, the same environment. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

The haziness of it all, how cramped it seems, how not everyone in the photo is looking at the camera but how enough are to create intensity.

LEFT: Jillian Camille
Really primitive looking, huge emphasis on shadows, wood-tones matched with skin-tones.

I love the muted colour palette, not being afraid to put things to create texture between the subject and the camera, that horizon effect of having the landscape drop off immediately in the frame.

Submit to the DF Flickr Pool to maybe see your shots here next week!
